I Am A Rock

The popular song, I Am a Rock by Paul Simon, was originally released in August of 1965. The song has been played in most venues (including elevators) ever since. The song has been commented on in great detail,(1) so this is not an attempt to do so again.
However, it is fascinating that the song presents no resolution.
Has the subject of the song been jilted?
His love has been either refused or once loved, he has now been rejected. And that’s it.
But what do you do now?
How do I respond to being jilted or refused, or fired, or made fun of or excluded? Think of a time you were rejected and you know that the feelings run deep. We share a common experience at once because we have all been jilted.
But what do I do now? The song gives us no answer and no direction.
As difficult as it may seem and as trite as it may sound. Only God can cure the jilted heart.
That does not mean its painless or quick or sad one day, happy the next, but only God can make it go away.
Time does not heal all wounds. Time covers wounds with junk and distraction, but it does not heal.
There are no rainbow puking unicorns, but only God heals wounds. I know. I know because I tried other ways. Only God heals.
1 Peter 5:6-7 says, Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.

Let me know what you think.
